The best AI clipper that doesn't make you upload (2026)
Three input models exist as of 2026-09-13: upload a file (OpusClip, Vizard, Submagic, Gling), paste a URL (StreamLadder, Cut.pro, Higgsfield, OpusClip, and ClipMe — a live stream link or a VOD link), or connect an account so nothing is submitted per stream (Eklipse, Spikes Studio, AutoClip.dev). Of the no-upload tools, ClipMe reads the live broadcast on Kick, Twitch and YouTube and cuts during it; Eklipse, Spikes and AutoClip.dev work from the recording after you go offline.
The upload is the tax nobody prices in. A six-hour 1080p VOD is tens of gigabytes; uploading it to a clipper is an hour you spend before the tool spends any time at all. Most paste-a-URL tools remove the upload but still start after the VOD exists; ClipMe takes a live stream link and starts during the broadcast. Account-connected tools remove the paste — the tool watches your channel — but start after you go offline.

Verdict
Never upload a stream. Paste the URL or connect an account instead. From there the difference is timing: Eklipse, Spikes and AutoClip.dev start when you go offline; ClipMe starts when you go live — paste a live stream link and it clips during the broadcast.
If you must upload — a local recording with no platform VOD — OpusClip's editor is the best place to send it. That is a different job from clipping a stream.
