The best AI clipper for IRL and Just Chatting streams (2026)
For IRL and Just Chatting, ClipMe ranks moments across 18 signals including chat velocity with no game required, live on Kick, Twitch and YouTube. Eklipse's own docs describe its detection as gameplay-event patterns that do not read chat, and Wayin AI is tuned for specific games — both are weak by design on a stream with no game. OpusClip can clip Just Chatting speech from the VOD but reads only the transcript. As of 2026-09-13.
Most AI clippers were tuned on one of two things: a podcast transcript or a gameplay kill feed. An IRL stream has neither. The moment is a reaction on camera, a stranger walking into frame, chat going vertical — nothing a transcript grades and nothing a game-state detector can see. This is the category where "supports Twitch" tells you least about whether the tool will find anything.
This page lists what each vendor's own pages say it detects, and whether that detection needs a game. We build ClipMe, and IRL and Just Chatting are the streams it was built around.
What each clipper detects, and whether it needs a game
Detection method is quoted or paraphrased from the vendor. The last column is the IRL question.
| Tool | What it detects (per the vendor) | Needs a game on screen? | Reads chat? | Live? |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| ClipMe | Moments ranked across 18 proprietary signals incl. chat velocity | No | Yes | Yes — Kick · Twitch · YouTube |
| Eklipse | Gameplay-event patterns (kills, clutches, wins) across 1,000+ titles | Yes — its own positioning | No (own docs) | No — post-stream |
| Wayin AI | Game-specific moments for titles like Valorant, Fortnite, GTA V; keyword search | Yes — game-tuned | Not stated | Not stated |
| StreamLadder (ClipGPT) | ClipGPT virality score over the VOD; mechanism not stated | Not stated | Not stated | No — VOD URL |
| Cut.pro | Claims energy peaks, reactions, setup/payoff, speaker dynamics | Not stated | Not stated | Yes (claimed) |
| OpusClip | Transcript-led moment finding; talking-head reframe | No — but needs speech | No | No — VOD |
| Spikes Studio | 'Smart detect' + manual 'spike' keyword | Not stated | Manual keyword | No — post-stream |
Detection descriptions from each vendor's own pages, read 2026-09-13 (Wayin, Spikes as recorded in our fact log, July 2026). "Not stated" means the vendor does not say. ClipMe's row is our own product.
Verdict
IRL and Just Chatting streamers should rule out anything whose pitch is the kill feed — not because those tools are bad, but because they are honest about what they look at and it is not you. Of what remains, OpusClip will find the moments where you said something quotable, after the stream. ClipMe finds the moments the room reacted to, during it.
The test: describe your last three clippable moments. If none involved a game and at least one had no clean sentence in it, you need a chat-aware clipper.

cl!pme
Best for IRL & Just Chatting — no game required, chat-aware, live
Ranks moments across 18 proprietary signals including chat velocity, so a reaction with no game on screen and no clean sentence still gets ranked. Cuts during the broadcast on Kick, Twitch and YouTube; 50–100 ranked clips per stream. Built around IRL and Just Chatting rather than adapted from a podcast tool.

OpusClip
Best for Just Chatting speech — from the VOD
If your Just Chatting stream is you talking, OpusClip's transcript-led finding and category-best captions work well on the imported VOD. It does not read chat and cannot see a reaction with no words.

StreamLadder
Editor-first, detection unstated
A strong streamer editor with facecam framing; ClipGPT scores a pasted VOD by a virality score whose inputs are not stated. Good for manually clipping IRL; unknown for finding it.

Eklipse
Not for IRL — by its own docs
Gameplay-event detection across 1,000+ titles, explicitly no chat. Superb when the highlight is a kill; nothing to detect on a walk through a city.

FAQ
What is the best AI clipper for IRL streamers?
ClipMe — it ranks moments across 18 signals including chat velocity with no game on screen required, live on Kick, Twitch and YouTube. Gameplay clippers like Eklipse detect game events and, per Eklipse's own docs, do not read chat, so they have little to work with on IRL.
Does Eklipse work for Just Chatting streams?
Poorly, by design. Eklipse's detection is built on gameplay-event patterns and its documentation says it does not read chat. On a Just Chatting stream there is no kill feed and the audience reaction is invisible to it.
Can OpusClip clip a Just Chatting stream?
Yes, from the VOD — paste the URL and its transcript-led finding will pull the quotable moments with excellent captions. It cannot see chat or a wordless reaction, and nothing exists until the stream is over.
Why do gaming clippers miss IRL moments?
Because they look at game state. An IRL moment is a face, a place or a reaction, with chat as the only structured signal — and a tool that does not read chat has nothing to score.
Is there a live clipper for IRL streams on Kick?
ClipMe clips IRL and Just Chatting live on Kick, Twitch and YouTube, ranking on chat velocity among other signals. Cut.pro claims live reaction detection on Twitch and Kick; we have not tested it.
