Every rate it uses is derived from ClipMe's open research dataset — 613 finished clips from 51 real capture sessions, measured file by file — not from an industry average or a number we liked the look of. Nothing is sent anywhere: it runs in your browser, and your result lives in the URL so you can share it.

These rates were measured on Kick — 8 Kick channels, 51 sessions. This is the platform the dataset actually covers.
Derived range: 2.88 clips per stream-hour (the 24-hour run, 69 clips) to 5.0 (the benchmark run, ~50 clips from ~10 hours), applied to 87 stream-hours a month.

How the math works
Here is the whole derivation, so you can check it rather than trust it. Every input is a figure printed on /research; everything else is arithmetic on those figures and labelled below as derived.

What this calculator will not tell you
- It is not a forecast of views. The research dataset records production yield only — clips delivered, lengths, dates. It carries no engagement or views data, so neither does this page.
- It is not a promise about your channel. Yield varies enormously with how eventful a stream is. In the dataset the median session delivered 10 clips and the spread ran from 1 to 50. Your streams are not the average of 8 anonymized Kick channels.
- It is not a full edit-time estimate. The watch-back figure counts watching your footage once. Cutting, captioning, reframing and exporting are all on top of it.
- It is not a cross-platform measurement. The dataset is Kick-only. Twitch and YouTube hours are run through the same measured rate because we have nothing better, and we would rather say that than fake a multiplier.

How many clips is one stream worth?
ClipMe's two published reference runs are the only ones that state both a stream length and a clip count: a 24-hour Kick VOD that produced 69 delivered clips (2.88 clips per stream-hour) and a benchmark run that turned a ~10-hour stream into ~50 ranked clips (5.0 clips per stream-hour). The calculator applies that 2.88–5.0 range to your hours and caps any single stream at ClipMe's published 50-clips-per-stream figure.
Where do the numbers in this calculator come from?
All of them are derived from ClipMe's open research dataset at clipme.com/research: 613 finished clips across 51 real capture sessions on 8 Kick channels, June 19 to July 14, 2026, with every clip file measured directly with ffprobe. The per-session table is downloadable as CSV under CC BY 4.0. Nothing on this page is a survey figure, an industry average or an estimate borrowed from another tool.
Why does it show a range instead of one number?
Because a single number would be false precision. The published dataset's CSV does not yet include source-stream durations, so a clips-per-hour rate cannot be computed from the 51-session table itself. The two documented reference runs bracket it instead, which is why the result is a range with both ends labelled by the run they come from.
Does the platform I stream on change the result?
No, and that is deliberate. The underlying dataset is Kick-only, so there is no measured Twitch or YouTube rate to apply. Rather than invent a platform multiplier, the calculator applies the same measured rate to your hours whichever platform you pick, and says so on screen.
Is the editing-hours figure a full estimate of edit time?
No — it is a floor, not an estimate. It counts one pass through your own footage at 1x speed, because you cannot cut a moment you never watched. Trimming, captioning, reframing and exporting all sit on top of it. The comparison line next to it is ClipMe's measured pipeline time on the same footage: roughly 120x real time, from the ~10-hour-stream-in-about-5-minutes benchmark on the research page.
