CPM
CPM (cost per mille) is the amount an advertiser pays per 1,000 monetized views — and, for clippers, the shorthand for how much a thousand views of a clip actually earns.
Clippers care about CPM because the same 100K views pays wildly differently depending on platform, niche, and audience region — a finance clip and an IRL-stream clip do not earn alike. Payout programs quote revenue per 1,000 qualified views, and creator campaigns often price clip work the same way. Two practical notes: platforms count a monetized view differently than a raw view, so the views on the counter and the views that pay rarely match; and CPM rises with watch time and completion, which is why a clip that opens on its hook out-earns one that opens on warm-up. CPM is a property of the content and audience, not the clipping tool — no clipper can promise a rate.
